How It Works: Our Underdeck Ceiling Design

Our patented system is unlike anything else on the market. While many systems attach directly to the floor joists—trapping moisture and risking long-term deck damage—our solution is engineered to suspend panels below the joists, allowing ventilation, easy maintenance access, and total protection from the elements.

Here’s how we do it:

1. Gutter Installation

We install a custom-engineered, load-bearing gutter system along the inside perimeter of the area being covered. This includes the house wall and the sides and front rim of the deck. If extra support is needed, we secure wood framing under the rim joist to ensure a solid gutter connection.

2. Seal & Waterproof the Gutters

The top edge of the gutter is sealed to create a watertight channel. This ensures no leakage into the area below, even during heavy rain or melting snow.

3. Ceiling Panel Installation

Our galvanized steel ceiling panels are pre-cut and interlock for a clean finish. Starting from one end, we insert the panels one by one, fully supported by the gutter system without any contact to your deck boards or joists above.

4. Accessory Integration

Our system supports popular add-ons like ceiling fans, porch swings, recessed lighting, heaters, and speakers. If you’d like accessories installed, we’ll prep for them during ceiling installation. (Note: electrical prep must be completed by a licensed electrician.)

5. Clean-Up and Final Walkthrough

Our team leaves your space spotless, walking you through the finished product and answering any final questions.
